Future Sounds is a collaboration between Echo Vocal Ensemble and the Royal College of Music Junior Department. It is designed to inspire the young composers at the RCMJD, giving them crucial access to professional performers and feedback, alongside a platform to create and share new work.

This project involves 13 young composers at the RCMJD and 9 professional performers from Echo Vocal Ensemble. The young composers will be set a challenge to write a short piece for SATB choir, for Echo to perform live in concert in November 2022.

As part of the project, singers from Echo Vocal Ensemble will work with students on their draft compositions, giving them crucial feedback on their work in progress, and enabling them to experiment with new ideas in person ahead of the final concert.

The project is a chance for vital links to be made between aspiring young people with those in the industry, and a way to celebrate the art form of ensemble singing.
